Sustainability- We Care!

We believe that the manufacturing of clothes should be done in a sustainable and responsible way. We care for the environment and finding the best solution for sustainability is the core of ORES. We constantly aim for more clean and  eco- friendly ways to develop our collections. We choose high quality textile, with a conscious mind set,  choosing our suppliers and methods with great care and high ethical standards.

What we do

ORES create sustainable fashion collections.

We use high quality textile and trims from natural resources.

Everything we do, we do with the environment in mind. We care for our planet and we leave as few negative traces as we possibly can.

The natural fibers has not been tampered with in any energy or water excessive process and aim to not add any unnecessary substance during the whole process. This saves the workers, the customers, and the nature from being exposed to harmful substances.  The textile is bio- degradable and will not end up as landfill or as micro plastic in the ocean.

We have a long-term sustainable vision. We do not want to contribute to the pollution of the planet. We want to have positive effect in the society.

Step by step, we give back and help the environment.

Design

Our passion is to design, with beautiful and natural textile, with very high quality and unique feeling.

We always use our own signature design for our products, with a minimalistic and clean air to it.  We do not buy designs, we make the design, patterns and samples in our atelier called “Estudio de La Alegria”. With a lot of love, joy and though in it. The inspiration comes from the nature and the textile (the raw material) itself.

The textile we use, is often composed by ORES in a unique blend of fibers, to create the desired texture and look and to avoid chemicals and harmful treatments to be used in the manufacturing process.

We let the idea phase take time to find purpose of each product.  We research and reflect to find the most sustainable ways to develop it. With a clear idea it is designed for a reason and better executed with high quality and less pollution. We aim to create considered designed, carefully fitted and meaningful collection.

Social responsibility

We take responsibility for all our actions. No harm is done to nature, animals, or people.

-Our long-term goal is to have positive impact on the society and the environment. We aim to be 100% chemical free and completely climate neutral- not leaving any negative traces on the environment.

-We work with fair trade organizations on a regular basis. The people working for our suppliers have good working conditions and wages.

-We control the use of chemicals and harmful substances in the textile and the dying/coloring. We find less water and energy intensive ways so we can save our resources.

-We minimize the use of water and energy in the production.

-We have a strict animal’s rights policy. All wool is traceable to farms with the highest standard of animal husbandry. The wool is    harvested/ clipped with the most respect for the animals and they are never mistreated.

-We use high quality options for trims, such as using wooden buttons instead of plastic ones. Plastic buttons often ends up in the oceans and causes harm to the wildlife.

-The silk we use is often from wild silk to prevent an unhealthy farming of silkworms. We often use organic silk where it has been stated that no pollution or harmful substance has been used in the farming or manufacturing.

-We use different sustainable solutions to make progress. Such as re-use and upcycle. It is an efficient and creative way to produce garments without any pollution or energy waste and put a higher demand on the suppliers, to be more mindful with their production chain.

-We do not use chrome tanned leather or suede. To be sure, we do not use any leather at all.

-Many of our fabric have OEKO Teks or GOTS standard. Read more about that further down.

-We want to inspire people to choose more eco-friendly alternatives. We give sustainable advice and encourage to not consume excessively and care for the garments you have. The garment in our collections is designed to be used for a long time, and not thrown away.

-We encourage the industry to develop more sustainable ways of production.

-We give back through collaborations and charity, contributing to save the environment.

Progress

We believe in progress and a constant aim to learn and improve.

We always strive to find better solutions and to do better collections in a more sustainable way. Because- when something is good, we do not settle for that, we continue to develop and refine. There are always options to make things even more beautiful, useful, efficient and sustainable.

ORES is engaged in social actions. Our goal is to have a positive impact on society and the environment.  Fashion can be sustainable in many ways and with the support from our customers we can make a change.

You can do a lot to help the planet, and save energy. All our washing and care instructions are eco friendly.
